Sahara began bellydance with the late Karlana (Carol Boddy) in the early '80s. She was immediately hooked by the music and the beauty of the art of bellydance. Sahara credits Karlana and Pacific Northwest dance icon Halima for their contributions to her signature style and unending passion for the dance.
Sahara teaches classes in Bend, Oregon, as well as workshops throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is director of the multi-award winning troupe, Sahara's Dream and has won multiple awards as a solist. Sahara's interests include teaching and choreography along with a thirst for knowledge - and considers herself a lifelong student of bellydance.
Most recently, Sahara and Phoenix took 1st place in the Troupe/Duet category of La Danse Orientale 2013, a bellydance competition in Tacoma, Washington.

Kamaria is a second-generation bellydancer. Known for her fluid and unique style, she has been a member of Sahara's Dream since 2005. As a member of Sahara's Dream, Kamaria has won several awards including 2006 and 2009 Belly Dancer USA Troupe and 2008 Belly Dancer USA Duet categories.

Phoenix is an accomplished performer, both as a soloist and as a member of Sahara's Dream. Her energetic style is captivating and fun. She is Level 1 Certified in the Suhaila Salimpour belly dance format and is training for a Level 2 workshop in August 2011. She teaches beginning and intermediate students, focusing on safety, muscle identification and isolation, drills, zils, technique, and putting it all together in combos. Natasha began taking belly dance class with Sahara in 2005, and she has been a member of Sahara's Dream since 2007. As a member of Sahara's Dream, Natasha has won 1st place in 2009 Belly Dancer USA Troupe and 2008 Belly Dancer USA Duet categories, as well as 2nd place People's Choice award in 2008 Belly Dancer USA Hobbyist category.
Jodie is well-known for her emcee skills,
entertaining audiences at competitions and other events. She is Dream's "roadie" - providing the support needed to get us where we need to be, when we need to be there, with safety pins and lash glue in her hip pocket.
Jodie is finishing her AA degree in Criminal Justice at Central Oregon Community College and plans on pursuing a career in public safety.

Michelle is a second-generation bellydancer. Known for creating her own choreographies and crisp technical skill, Michelle is already an award-winning bellydancer. She is a senior in high school and plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice.
Sarah has been dancing with Sahara for approximately five years. She is a licensed massage therapist and is studying to become a Nutritional Therapist.
